Poker Edge Review

In my recent PT/PAHUD article I noted that the first time I used the two together it felt like cheating. When I first was introduced to Poker Edge I got that exact same feeling. Unless you are playing at Party Poker or Poker Stars, where the program is currently banned, it isn't technically cheating and can be used to gain a huge advantage over your opponents.

What is Poker Edge?

Poker Edge gives you access to a massive database of player statistics on over 100 sites. The Heads Up Display (HUD) automatically recognizes each player at your table and overlays the statistics of your choice next to their name on the table. Player icons give you a general idea of how each person plays. In addition to this the auto lookup allows you to find the best games at each site, which is a proven way to increase your profits. Knowing how you're opponents play is a sure way to gain an edge, and those edges will soon be transformed into extra cash.

What Sites Does Poker Edge Support?

Why Should I Use Poker Edge?

In poker information is power, and power equals profit. The more you know about your opponents the more you will be able to win from them. Here is a list of the benefits you will gain from using the program.

  • Know how your opponents play in every situation
  • Access to stats not available with other programs
  • See how your opponent played his most recent showdowns
  • Use the auto lookup to find the fish and avoid the sharks
  • Player icons give you a general idea of each players game
  • No need to data mine yourself. Poker Edge does all the work for you
  • Extensive filters assures that you can see any stats you want
  • Hide your own stats from other players.
  • Support answers questions and fixes problems fast

What Problems Does Poker Edge Have?

Like any other program Poker Edge has some flaws. Here is a list of some of the flaws we have found in our testing

  • Website makes information a little difficult to find. At times it is difficult to find some information on their website. We have compiled everything you need to know on our site, so this should not be an issue.
  • On some sites poker edge can occasionally be buggy. Support is incredibly fast at fixing these problems and will personally walk you through any problems you have. After testing we have not found it to be any more buggy that PT/PAHUD and have been more satisfied with poker edge support than the others.
  • The program currently only supports use on 4 tables. For people who play more than 4 tables this is a fairly big issue. We have been told that there are plans to fix this in the next update.
  • Currently only supports Texas Hold'em cash games and tournaments.

How Much Does Poker Edge Cost?

Basic Membership (as low as $9.95/mo): This is for the low stakes player. With this membership you gain access to stats up to $3/$6 Limit and $.25/$.50 No Limit.

Gold Membership: (as low as $19.95/mo): This membership gives you access to all ring and tournament games stats available. If you play tournaments or higher stakes games this is the membership for you.

Is Poker Edge Worth The Cost?

If you want to make money at poker this tool should definitely be in your arsenal. If you play only 20 sessions a month you would have to make an extra $1 per session to show a profit from the program. In my experience you will be able to make significantly more than that. The stats and game selection tools that this program can give you should convert to hundreds if not thousands of extra dollars a month depending on your limits. When thinking as a poker player you need to see the long-term portability of your investment, whether it is a program like this, training sites, or coaching. If you purchase will make you money down the road can you really afford not to?

Which is better Poker Edge or PT/PAHUD?

The most profitable thing to do would be using both Poker Edge and Poker Tracker while leaving out PAHUD. Poker Edge is much better at providing stats on your opponents and game selection than PAHUD. However, Poker Tracker is better for tracking/examining your own play. Using both will give you the best of both worlds, and increase your profits massively. A good poker player uses all the tools at his disposal, so there is no reason you shouldn't use both Poker Edge and Poker Tracker.
