Sixth Sense Review

Look, let me just make this clear. You suck at table selection. Don't lie to yourself, I do it too. Open up the poker site, randomly load up tables, and look for the ones with the big average pots. Then halfway through the session you're at a table with 4 regulars and the 3-betting is wild and crazy. You feel disgruntled and angry because you can't make a move and they keep making moves on you. Hey this A3off looks good preflop, I better push over his 3-bet, sweet he has KK. Let's reload. 4 buyins later you have no idea what happened.

The problem isn't always that you need to get better at poker. Sure regulars at the lower and midstakes games all have holes and ways you can exploit them, but why try? Why not play against the players who call 3 streets with A3 on an Axxxx board? Why make your life harder?

That's why Sixth Sense and tools like it are so powerful. Not just because they make you money but because they make you feel better about your game. They allow you to play more hands because the quality of your opponents doesn't make you think as much. Good table selection makes poker easier and more fun to play.

Moving beyond looking for large average pots
We all have a buddy list function that we occasionally use when we find a supermegafish. Maybe some of you even use Pokertracker to find weak players. But as far as tools go Sixth Sense is where it's at. If you're someone who data mines the tables you know which players to avoid but often data mining has its limits. Datamining doesn't let you find the worst players and it doesn't save you the time from having to open up each table and study it before you sit down.

That's where Sixth Sense comes in. Sixth Sense searches your Pokertracker database for the weak players for you. They provide a customizable "fish score" which basically categorizes players for you and lets you rank who you'd rather play against. Is your standard game best against a calling station or a fish who bluffs all-in whenever he can? Sixth Sense lets you decide, finds the players for you, and then opens the tables. Although this program is a bit expensive with monthly fees I recommend it for all players moving up into the midstakes games. The fact is the games aren't as good as they used to be and you need to practice some game selection in order to maximize your time at the tables. Avoiding playing with regulars and ensuring you play with the worst players at your limits is key.

Using Sixth Sense to take shots

While I'm sure most of you who are pros out there data mine a limit before you move up a huge confidence booster is playing against the weaker players at that limit. Sixth Sense gives you an advantage before you sit down and makes moving up in stakes that much easier. Also, maybe a fish you like to play against is playing higher then usual, Sixth sense allows to you pick and choose the times you make your moves at the higher limits.

Sixth Sense is a program that I use a ton, everyday. They have a 15 day free trial period so check it out HERE
